Apple’s WWDC 2020 event is going to be held in June this year, but due to Coronavirus outbreak this event will be entirely online. This year there won’t be any physical event. The event date is still not announced by Apple and we are expecting the announcement of date by Apple very soon.

This year the Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference will be held online due to Coronavirus pandemic worldwide. According to Apple’s statement, the event will be held on an unspecified date in June. According to Apple the online event will feature a “completely new online experience.” The online event will include Apple’s traditional announcement keynote and developer sessions.

This is the first time this event is happening online, like many other events this event will be held online this year due to deadly outbreak of Coronavirus worldwide.

Apple announced the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event entirely online to reduce spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).

“We are delivering WWDC 2020 this June in an innovative way to millions of developers around the world, bringing the entire developer community together with a new experience,” said Apple in an official statement.

“The current health situation has required that we create a new WWDC 2020 format that delivers a full program with an online keynote and sessions, offering a great learning experience for our entire developer community, all around the world.”

According to the reports Apple has committed $1 million to organize this event  in San Jose. But in the wake of widespread physical events, the company will conduct the event online.

There were many events whose physical version was canceled and changed to an online event. Apple’s WWDC event  is the latest of industry events that have been moved to digital format due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Others affected events include Reboot Develop Blue, EGX Rezzed, E3, the Game Developers Conference, esports events for Call of Duty and Overwatch League, Digital Dragons, the BAFTA Games Awards, BitSummit, and numerous others.

Many mobile and gadgets launch events were also cancelled and moved to the online mode. Google has already canceled its Google’s I/O’s in-person portion of its big developer event. The Google I/O is a yearly event by Google where companies showcase their products. Facebook has done the same for F8, as has Microsoft for Build. E3, SXSW, the Game Developers Conference, and Mobile World Congress are few of the events that stand canceled because of Coronavirus.
